Monochrome Landscape

  • Course
  • 13 Lessons

Draw with me as I capture the changing landscape in black and white. Give yourself the space to explore, look and translate what you see with line, shape and pattern. Get confident interpreting the countryside and find out how I create compositions that lead the eye and tell a story of place. This course is split between drawing en plein air in the hills and studio time to develop layered compositions.

I have been creating and selling mixed-media landscapes for 15 years. On this course you will learn my techniques for interpreting what I see in nature. This course will focus on sketching and using monochrome as a way to simplify the shapes and textures of the landscape. You will finish with a range of sketches and fledgling artworks that you can take forward into painting or textiles.

The lessons are compiled of video tutorials and tasks and are self-paced. Your access remains open so you can revisit the course content.
